It's time for the annual ELS Weekend in Vienna!

Until the early 19th century, the waltz – a dance in which the partners touch and swirl together – was considered too erotic and exciting to include in events where propriety was in order. But when the great composer and orchestra director Johann Strauss was named Dance Music Director of the Imperial Court in 1835, the waltz received formal approval as an official dance in Vienna. The waltz and the Viennese Opera Ball became an important Austrian cultural phenomenon.

Already for the 6th time in history ELS Austria cordially invites you to the ELS Ball Weekend, which takes place in Vienna from the 3rd until the 5th February 2012. From the Opening Ceremony to the last dance in the wee hours of the morning, you are invited to join the magical celebration.

Needless to say that in addition to the Ball, we will offer a diverse programme for the whole Weekend, so don't hestitate to participate at the weekend even if you can't attend the Ball.
